How the German Cuckoo Clock Works

Cuckoo clocks are beautiful pieces of art. Their unique look reminds you of its origin from a foreign country. If you are planning to get yourself one, make sure they are made in Germany cuckoo clocks. These hand carved cuckoo clocks are made in Black Forest, Germany. It was here where it was created around the 17th century.

Original German cuckoo clocks use the pendulum in their timekeeping. This is based on the principle that a pendulum will always swing at exactly the same rate back and forth as long as the weight at the end of the pendulum remains at the same distance and the pendulum keeps swinging. All pendulum clocks work this way, regardless of the size of the clock. The difference is in the rate at which the pendulum swings. You can say that it is all in the weights.
