A Unique Way to Showcase Cake

If you look at a champagne glass you would think that it is very fragile due to the stem being very thin. Did you know that you could utilize champagne flutes to support a cake? It definitely is doable as long as they are tightly glued in place to give a stable base for the cake. To do so you must purchase acrylic discs that are around ¼ to ½ inch thick. This method is good for a one-tier or two tier cake. Larger cakes may be a little unstable though.

First is to put 3 champagne flutes vertical on an acrylic disc. Make sure that they are proportionately spaced around the outer edge of the disc. Then put glass glue to the bottom of each glass and press it back firmly onto the disc. Leave the glue overnight. Place a cake on a cardboard that is around 6 to 8 diameters. Then place the cake on another acrylic disc. Now take the cake that is on the acrylic disc and carefully put it on top of the champagne flutes. Voila!
