acrylic glassware

Acrylic, a synthetic polymer fiber that contains at least 85% acrylonitrile polymethyl methacrylate. It is also commonly called acrylic glass or plexiglass. It came into commercial use in 1936 initially for constructing residential and commercial aquariums. It has since then been used in the production of a lot of household items including acrylic glassware, trays and salad bowls. Acrylic products have taken on interesting colors and designs.

Acrylic glassware comes in shapes and designs that are similar to real glass. However, they have the advantage of being made of thicker material and are more durable. They are therefore more convenient to use in informal parties, by the pool or where children run around. Acrylic glassware is also cheaper. In case of accidents they will not shatter the way glass would.
