Get your family closer to each other. Have a rule that you should all eat at least one meal a day together. Usually, family members have more time to sit down and eat during dinner. Use this time well by catching up on what each did earlier in the day.
Make sure that your dining room chairs are comfortable to sit on so that kids are motivated to stay longer. Studies show that family dinners are associated with happier marriages, healthier children and stronger family relationships. Teens who also eat dinner with their families on a regular basis have half the risk of substance abuse as compared to teens who only eat dinner with their families twice a week or less.
