In the technical sense, crazy quilting is not really the same as the traditional quilting most people are familiar with. Crazy quilting is the creation of a patchwork design. It’s a technique that involves the sewing of irregularly shaped pieces of fabric that is later heavily embellished with embroidery stitches. This activity dates back to the Victorian era where the quilted pieces were mostly decorative and not at all useful.
Nowadays, crazy quilting patterns result in functional items such as bags, evening purses and ornaments. All you need to get started are quilting supplies that are easily found in many stores on the internet. You can even buy beginner kits that already include all the materials you will need to complete a project.

I once caught a makeover show on cable TV that targets businesses. What the host does is look at the business, pick out what is going wrong (because the establishments they feature are either slumping or not earning enough), have the business close down for two days so they can renovate the whole place while the business owners and their staff get some pampering at an upscale salon.
One of my favorite episodes was the makeover of a Californian location. The host replaced the bar’s old bar stools with new, shiny oak bar stools that matched the new Mexican theme of the place. The host also got rid of the a lot of the “clutter” surrounding the place; that clutter was called “memorabilia” by the owner and the host had to pry some of the items from the latter. The result was a more inviting place, one that looks like the happy taco place the owner wanted to project, and no longer the dingy old neighborhood joint.

Because the summer season is fast approaching, you find yourself wanting to install a ceiling fan. The problem is your ceiling is not high enough. What then? Not a problem. Hugger ceiling fans are specifically made for houses with low ceilings. The fans “hug” close to the ceiling and still get the proper ventilation without compromising safety.
Hugger ceiling fans are commonly used in low-ceilinged residences like condominiums and apartments. Constructed like the regular ceiling fan but without the down rod that is commonly found in most ceiling fans. And with the wide selection of designs to choose from, taste and style doesn’t have to suffer too. Some hugger fans even come with a light kit so they can act both as a source of light and ventilation at the same time. So to combat that oppressive heat come summer, get one of those hugger ceiling fans for your home.

The new apartment complex that we visited was really beautiful. The building’s lobby was done in rich, tasteful colors, with subtle elegance provided by lighting chandeliers. The waiting area for guests was also comfy-looking and had this relaxed atmosphere. The receptionist was attentive and cheerful, seemingly eager to help us.
She assured us that security in the building was tight and that the building’s administration is quite flexible when it comes to renovations. I asked to see the hallways, corridors, fire exits and all that. Everything looked like it had excellent construction.

A miter saw is an essential power tool in your tool shed. Or if you are in the construction business, you will never be without one of these tools. These saws have powerful motors and electric brakes that stop the blades in seconds. The carbide-tipped blades ensure a smooth and clean cut. Some have lasers for accuracy in cutting.
As usual, make sure that you are wearing protective gear when operating power tools. Make sure you are wearing gloves to protect your eyes. You don’t know when a small chip of wood or tile might fly off and hit you. There are safety gloves to protect your hands and safety boots for your feet as well. It is better to be safe than sorry.
