People who love to cook want the best cookware. The best cookware for me are those made from cast iron. Cast iron pans are the heaviest cookware available and can withstand cooking abuses. Pans are the most used of cookware. More likely, they are used everyday. Using it everyday will easily wear out your pan. The Teflon coating will thin out, washing will scratch the surface, daily used will make the pan handle loose and accidental droppings will deform it.
All these can be avoided by using cast iron pans. You can drop them daily and they won’t even dent. They are slightly more expensive than most non stick brands but they are worth it. They will also distribute heat evenly. The end result is perfectly cooked meals. Also, most cast iron pans will last a lifetime. You can even give it to your grandchildren.

Gift giving is made more special when you add your personal touch. This adds value to the gift and the recipient will appreciate it more because of the time and effort you have invested in it. One of the nicest gift you can give to wine aficionados are hand painted wine glasses. Not only are these very functional, they also make for wonderful displays as decorative pieces.
Too, painting rather ordinary wine glasses gives them a fresh and distinctive look. You’ll be transforming them from dull to some things that are eye-catching. Start on a new hobby and try your hand at hand painting wine glasses. Just visit the nearest craft store for some glass paints and various sized brushes to get started.

One of the greatest frustrations of parents is getting their child to clean up their room. It usually takes a lot of cajoling, convincing and even threatening before a child can be moved into action. I think it is partly the fault of us parents that this is happening. We were remiss in teaching them when they were small. We preferred to pick up after them because we thought that they were small and that they will learn when they got older. Now the damage is done and the job is much more difficult.
Children should be taught to clean after themselves as soon as they can sit up. There are tricks that can be applied, like treating the chore as a game. Give the child points for putting back toys in the toy chest; then give him a reward if he has done a good job. You also need to provide storage for everything. A childrens bookshelf will provide space for books but it can also be a place to keep stuffed toys. Once your child gets the hang of cleaning his room he will do it even if he doesn’t have you by his side,

Thanksgiving dinner is one of our most cherished family events. No matter where we all are (my sister is in Singapore and my brother in Australia) we make it a point to be together on Thanksgiving dinner. We rotate who will host the dinner. The staple of this dinner is the turkey. It doesn’t matter on whose hosting the dinner, it is my dad who will carve the turkey using an electric knife.
In our family an electric knife is as vital as a turkey in Thanksgiving dinner. It makes the slicing of the turkey a lot easier. And since our turkey is always nicely cooked, using an electric knife for slicing doesn’t easily break the turkey’s meat. This way our turkey still looks presentable on our dinner table even if we are already feasting on it.

Springtime cocktail parties are great to hold outdoors during the early evening. Let the kids run around the garden while the adults enjoy the cool air out in the porch. Use acrylic martini glasses for serving drinks. This would eliminate the worry of cleaning up broken glasses later.
When mixing martini, remember to always use fresh ice. Keep everything as cold as possible including the shaker and glasses. Try out this banana cream pie martini recipe: combine 2 oz. light rum with ½ oz. crème de banana, ½ oz. Godiva Liquer and ½ oz. white crème de cacao into a mixing glass. Add ice, stir to chill then strain into a chilled martini glass.

Get warmth, versatility and ease of cleaning in one type of bedding. Duvets are plush bed covers that are often stuffed with down or a synthetic fiber that’s equally fluffy. These are typically paired with removable and washable duvet covers. Duvets are placed on top of bed sheets, like a bedspread or quilt, to give off a decorative finish to a bed.
Duvet covers are easily removed and replaced when the old one needs laundering. Buy different duvet covers in various colors. You can use these to transform your room’s themes as the seasons vary. With this, you can instantly perk up your surroundings just by doing some color changes.

When you’re into design, art and architecture, you notice a lot of details. People with no creative background would probably just appreciate the softness of the sofa and the bar. A person with an artistic background person would walk into a room or into so someone’s house and see the appeal of a piece of furniture. A designer or a creative person would for instance take note of the tiffany hanging pendant light. They would point out its appeal and the details that make tiffany lights irresistible.
A tiffany hanging pendant light is often placed in sitting rooms, bar and cigar rooms. This is because tiffany lamps are known for their stained glass design. They emit a colorful glow that is meant to relax you. The lamp is I half round in shape. It is also called hanging because it is often placed in a lower position, close to the table.
