A few years ago my house caught fire and I lost all my important documents such as my birth certificate, social security card and my emergency money.  Recently, I purchased a fire safe to protect these documents from being lost in a blaze.  I hope that I never have another fire in my home, but if I do, I know that my most crucial papers and documents will be protected.
